Overview
Headquartered out of Arlington, Washington, OutBack Power was founded in 2001 by a small group of passionate engineers. The small startup quickly earned a reputable foundation by listening to their customers and incorporating many of the changes that were suggested, truly establishing a customer focused company. Today, they are a trusted name in the renewable energy field, offering a vast selection of innovative products that were exclusively pioneered by OutBack Power. Their product line includes off grid inverters, grid-tie inverters with battery backup, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) charge controllers, and communications/network products, along with a wide range of integration and safety hardware. Outpacing many of their competitors, OutBack Power offers an extended warranty option on many of their inverters.
OutBack Power is constantly expanding their industry leading level of customer service with dedicated, direct dial, tech support lines as well as an online “live-chat” service. As a distributor for OutBack Power products, Solar Energy Group is an integral part of the high level of support that customers have come to expect from OutBack Power.
OutBack Power is highly known for providing rugged inverters and charge controllers designed to survive in environments that would normally destroy other inverter/chargers. The FX series of sealed inverter/chargers comes with some of the most rugged features one can find on sealed systems. Some of these features include die-cast aluminum chassis with a powder-coated finish to prevent corrosion, generous use of gaskets and O-ring seals to keep water and small particles out, and a protective conformal coating on all circuit boards. The externally mounted “turbo” cooling system will keep your FX series inverter/charger running at peak performance in high heat conditions.
The FLEXnet ™ DC system has been leading the way in DC system monitoring devices. Integrated networked data from your system easily allows you to stay in constant touch with your system’s level of performance and efficiency. The FLEXnet™ DC module seamlessly conforms to either the FW500-DC or the FW1000-DC enclosures, and can easily monitor up to three shunts.
OutBack Power also offers grid-interactive versions of their inverter/chargers, which come in either sealed (GTFX) or vented (GVFX) models, allowing you to sell solar, wind, and/or hydro power back to the utility grid. Utilizing a built-in 60A transfer switch, AC power is seamlessly switched between utility and battery power. For 120/240V power output configurations, the G series can easily be combined or “stacked”, with a limit of two inverters. OutBack Power stands behind these highly efficient units, providing a standard 2-year warranty, with an optional 3-year extension (5 years total).
OutBack Power’s proprietary FLEXware™ systems provide a wide variety of options for supporting all of your AC and DC components. These systems utilize well-designed breaker housing configurations, keeping your AC and DC enclosures professionally, and safely separated. Accommodating all of the essential protective devices and components in clear & simple outline, FLEXware’s™ innovative architecture leads the way in installation integrity.
Grid-Interactive
For people who want the ability to sell back renewable energy power to the utility through net metering, and also want the ability to use their renewable energy source in the event of a utility power failure, OutBack offers the GTFX and GVFX lines of inverters for grid-interactive applications.
OutBack Power’s true sine wave grid-interactive inverter/ charger is a complete power solution. It incorporates a DC to AC sine wave inverter, battery charger and AC transfer switch housed within a die-cast aluminum chassis. The GTFX and GVFX Series Inverter/Charger gives you the ability to sell solar, wind or hydro power back to the utility grid while providing instantaneous backup power in the event of a utility outage.
Our built-in transfer switch automatically disconnects your loads from the utility grid and powers them from the inverter in the event of an outage, allowing you to continue using your solar and battery backup power, unlike traditional grid-tie systems. Intelligent multi-stage battery charging prolongs the life of your batteries and built-in networked communications enables you to stack up to two units while simultaneously communicating with other OutBack Power components. The exclusive modular system architecture means that increased power output is just an additional inverter/charger away.
Our GTFX series uses a sealed chassis that can operate in the harshest environment conditions such as a high humidity and corrosive salt air while the GVFX series uses a vented chassis with “bug proof” screened openings that allow high output AC power in various operating conditions. OutBack Power inverter/chargers are the only choice when you need a true sine wave, powerful, modular and reliable power solution for your home, business or extreme application.

Off-Grid
Solar. Wind. Hydro. Generator. No matter what your energy source OutBack's products are engineered to provide your home or business with reliable electricity day-in and day-out. The OutBack modular system architecture allows your system to grow along with your power needs up to 36,000 watts. Power hungry appliances like washing machines, air conditioning and power tools are easily started by our inverter's substantial surge power capability. When not being used, the inverter enters a power save mode, which consumes as little as 3 watts, saving your battery power for when you need it the most.

OutBack's innovative Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology gets the most from your solar array or can also control hydro or wind turbine charging sources. Complete system status and control is easily monitored by a single control, instead of requiring the user to keep an eye on multiple displays and status indicators.
